Susan Evans works in the Asia Custom Research team’s Hong Kong office. Fluent in Mandarin, her main responsibilities involve delivering custom research projects to clients in the Greater China region. Most recently, Susan has worked on an in-depth study of global political and economic trends and their implications for emerging Chinese multinationals, and city-level quantitative research for a large construction company. Prior to joining the Economist Intelligence Unit, Susan spent five years as a researcher for the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office. She provided input for policy-makers and other government officials on a wide range of Chinese political and economic issues. Susan has an undergraduate M.A. in Chinese from the University of Edinburgh, UK, for which she also spent a year studying at National Taiwan Normal University. Her postgraduate M.A. in International Relations was earned at the University of Nottingham, UK.
