Companies around the world are operating in an environment of rapid and profound change. The ‘New Economies’ this change creates in the Asia-Pacific is the subject of the first phase of the Changemakers programme, in partnership with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and released today. In an interactive slideshow, we look at five topics: trade, economic development, R&D in Australia, the competitive landscape, and Asia’s emerging corporate giants.

In August, the second phase of Changemakers, ‘Collaboration ecosystems,’ will be launched with a series of articles on heritage firms partnering with start-ups. Topics will include Australian ecosystems in the digital age, the motivations of Australian corporates for working with start-ups, and how ecosystems are changing views of IP.

In November, a suite of research on ‘Sustainable infrastructure, the third phase of the Changemakers programme, will be released. The subject will be explored through a paper analysing the global landscape for sustainable infrastructure, with a focus on innovative business models, the use of technology, and the policy environment. That will be accompanied by a series of case studies and a mini-documentary on specific sustainable infrastructure initiatives.

All of the research will be available at
