Miguel Manuel C. Dorotan

Senior Manager, Health Policy and Insights at Economist Impact

Miguel is a senior health manager with Economist Impact’s Policy and Insights Team based in Singapore. He works with the global and regional leadership team to define and execute a regional and global strategy for health by identifying the priority thematic areas in health and designing highly relevant, engaging and cutting edge research programs. He is an experienced public health practitioner with a history of working in Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Health Systems Research and Programme Management.

Prior to joining The Economist, he worked in various NGOs and international organizations such as Save the Children International, Red Cross, The World Bank and World Health Organization. He responded during Super Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan, Nepal Earthquake, Marawi Crisis, and Rohingya Refugee Crisis (Bangladesh) among others. Dr Dorotan finished Master of Science (MSc) in International Public Health focused on Humanitarian Assistance from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Liverpool,UK) under the Chevening Scholarship, Doctor of Medicine from University of Santo Tomas (Manila, Philippines) and Bachelor of Arts Major in Behavioral Science from the University of the Philippines Manila. Dr Dorotan is also an Adjunct Faculty of the Asian Institute of Management.
