About the report
Global Maritime Trends 2050 is an in-depth report by Economist Impact, commissioned by Lloyd's Register Foundation and Lloyd's Register. The research is based on a pragmatic literature review and 16 qualitative interviews with maritime policy and industry professionals.
The fictional futures explore how logical progressions of events could impact five key components of the industry: trade, energy, vessels, ports and people. The futures depict 'what if' scenarios based on actions taken today.
